Outerbase
AI-powered database interface for viewing, querying, and managing data.
Outerbase is a modern database management interface that uses AI to make working with databases more intuitive and accessible. It provides a spreadsheet-like view of database tables, an AI-powered SQL query generator, and visual dashboards, all designed to lower the barrier to working with data.
The AI query generation feature allows users to describe the data they want in plain English, and Outerbase produces the corresponding SQL query. For example, typing "show me all users who signed up in the last 30 days and made at least one purchase" generates the appropriate SQL with proper joins and date calculations. This capability is accurate for common query patterns and supports multiple SQL dialects. The spreadsheet-like table view lets users browse, filter, sort, and edit data directly in a familiar grid interface, similar to working in Excel or Google Sheets. Inline editing allows quick data corrections without writing UPDATE statements, while bulk operations support editing multiple records simultaneously.
Visual dashboards and charts can be created from query results, enabling teams to build internal analytics views without additional BI tooling. These dashboards can be shared with team members, making Outerbase useful as a lightweight internal tool for data exploration. The platform connects to PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLite, SQL Server, and other popular database engines through secure connection strings, and it supports both cloud-hosted and self-hosted databases. Outerbase also offers API generation that creates REST endpoints from database schemas, useful for quickly standing up backend services.
The tool is best suited for developers who want a more visual way to interact with databases, and for non-technical team members like product managers and analysts who need to access database data without learning SQL. Teams that want to democratize data access within their organization without building custom internal tools will find it particularly valuable. Advanced database administrators who prefer full SQL control may find the interface somewhat limiting.
Outerbase offers a free tier with limits on the number of database connections and queries. Paid plans expand these limits and add collaboration features, API generation, and priority support. The pricing is structured to be accessible for small teams while scaling for larger organizations.

Good tool with room to grow. Outerbase handles the basics really well and I use it daily. Would love to see better support for collaborative features in future updates.

I like Outerbase a lot. It integrates well with my existing setup and the AI assistance is genuinely helpful. Just wish the NoSQL support was a bit better.
