Harness

AI-native software delivery platform for modern DevOps teams.

3.9 (5 reviews)
Harness is a comprehensive software delivery platform that brings CI/CD, feature flags, cloud cost management, security testing, and service reliability capabilities together in a single AI-native system. It aims to provide everything an engineering organization needs to deliver software reliably, replacing multiple point solutions with one integrated platform. The CI/CD module uses AI-powered test intelligence to identify and run only the tests affected by code changes, dramatically reducing build times without sacrificing coverage. Deployment pipelines support canary, blue-green, and rolling deployment strategies with automated verification that monitors key metrics after deployment and triggers automatic rollback if anomalies are detected. This closed-loop deployment approach reduces the risk of failed releases reaching end users. The feature flags module enables progressive rollouts where new features can be released to specific user segments, gradually expanded based on success metrics, and instantly killed if problems emerge. Cloud cost management provides visibility into infrastructure spending across AWS, Azure, and GCP, with AI-driven recommendations for right-sizing and optimization that can identify significant cost savings. Harness also incorporates security testing through static application security testing (SAST), dynamic application security testing (DAST), and software composition analysis (SCA). These capabilities scan code and dependencies for vulnerabilities as part of the pipeline, shifting security left without requiring separate tooling. The chaos engineering module allows teams to inject failures intentionally to test system resilience. The platform is best suited for enterprise engineering organizations looking to consolidate their toolchain and reduce operational complexity. Teams with mature DevOps practices that want to add AI-driven optimization to their delivery process will get the most value. Smaller teams may find the platform overly complex for their needs and may prefer simpler, more focused tools. Harness offers a free tier that includes CI/CD, feature flags, and cloud cost management with usage limits suitable for small teams. Paid plans start at the team level and scale to enterprise editions with advanced governance, audit trails, and dedicated support. Enterprise pricing is custom-quoted and can be substantial for large deployments.

Solid 4 stars. Harness does what it claims and does it well. Not revolutionary but a genuine quality-of-life improvement for my daily coding.

Pretty good. Harness does 80% of what I need it to do very well. The remaining 20% is where competitors might edge it out but for the price, no complaints.

Decent but not the best in class. Harness gets the job done for infrastructure provisioning but I've seen competitors handle pricing transparency better. Still, worth trying.
